The Bioelectric Body: What Alignment Really Means for Your Health and Success

February 17, 20263 min read

We talk about alignment a lot. Alignment in business, alignment in relationships, alignment with purpose. It has become one of those words that feels meaningful, yet slightly abstract at the same time.

But what if alignment is not just emotional or strategic. What if it is biological. What if it is electrical.

In a recent conversation on the Born To Be Brilliant® podcast, I spoke with Faye Coulson, a bio magnetist who works at what she describes as the most fundamental layer of the body, bioelectricity. It was one of those discussions that gently shifts the way you see things. Not dramatic. Not hype. Just a subtle widening of perspective.

We often look at health through a chemical lens. We think about supplements, medication, nutrition, hormones. Or we look at performance and success through a psychological lens. Mindset, belief systems, strategy, habits. All important. All valuable.

Yet beneath chemistry is electricity.

The human body is bioelectrical. The nervous system communicates through electrical impulses. Each cell holds a charge. Even in hospital, one of the first assessments carried out is an ECG to measure the electrical activity of the heart. We accept that machines run on electricity. We rarely pause to consider that we do too.

What struck me most in the conversation was not simply the magnets Faye uses in her work, but the lens through which she views the body. She spoke about working at the trunk of the tree rather than the branches. Instead of chasing symptoms, she looks at the foundational layer that orchestrates everything else.

And I could not help but see the parallel with business.

I work with high performing individuals who are intelligent, capable and deeply committed to what they are building. On paper, many of them are succeeding. Yet something feels slightly off. The milestone does not feel how they imagined. The growth comes with heaviness. The ambition remains, but the energy behind it shifts.

From the outside, everything looks impressive. On the inside, it can feel draining.

We often respond by trying to fix the visible layer. We adjust strategy. We add more discipline. We consume more information. Sometimes we even question ourselves entirely. But rarely do we pause to ask whether the operating system itself is calibrated for the life we are now living.

Faye shared her own story of building a thriving practice across multiple clinics, travelling constantly, in demand and outwardly successful. Yet she was heading towards burnout. When the pandemic forced stillness, she stepped back and reconsidered the shape of her impact. Instead of scaling herself, she chose to teach others. Her reach expanded and her life regained balance.

It was not that her original path was wrong. It simply was not sustainable in the form she was pursuing it.

I see this often. Success that looks right but feels misaligned. Growth that technically works but quietly costs too much. The body will always tell the truth about whether something fits.

Optimisation is not about doing more. It is about calibrating the system that produces the outcome. Your health, your time, your relationships, your finances and your happiness are not separate compartments. They are interconnected parts of a single human operating system. When one is significantly out of sync, it will eventually ripple into the others.

The real question is not simply how much you are achieving. It is how well your internal world supports what you are creating externally.

If this resonates, I invite you to explore that question more deeply. I have created a short Alignment Quiz designed to reveal where you are thriving and where recalibration may be needed so your success serves you across every dimension of your life.
