The Simple Fix That Cuts Your Business Overheads and Your Overwhelm in One Go

June 30, 20266 min read

How many separate tools are you currently paying for to run your business? Email marketing, CRM, landing pages, booking system, course platform, community platform, social scheduling, payment processing, project management. Add up the actual monthly total and then ask yourself whether that number represents value or habit.

For most entrepreneurs, the honest answer is somewhere between the two. Some of those tools are earning their place. Others are subscriptions that made sense at some point, never quite got cancelled, and are now draining money and attention every month with very little to show for it.

How the patchwork happens

Nobody sits down and decides to run their business across eleven different platforms. It happens tool by tool, each individual decision entirely reasonable in the moment. You need email marketing, so you sign up for whatever someone in a group recommended. You need a booking system, so you add that separately. Your email platform does not have a great landing page builder, so you add one. You want to run a course, so you add a course hosting platform. You want a community space, so you add another platform for that. You realise these things do not communicate with each other, so you add an automation tool to connect them.

At no point did you decide to create this level of complexity. You solved each problem as it appeared. The accumulation became the problem itself. The combined monthly cost of this kind of stack typically runs to several hundred pounds, sometimes considerably more. The money, though, is only part of it.

The real cost is the mental overhead. The cognitive load of managing multiple systems, maintaining multiple logins, troubleshooting incompatibilities, switching between platforms dozens of times a day. That overhead is continuous, largely invisible, and entirely solvable.

What leverage actually looks like

Leverage is a word that gets used in business contexts in a fairly narrow way, usually in reference to other people's time, when the most underutilised form of leverage for most small business owners is technological leverage.

Technological leverage, when it is set up properly, means your business is doing things while you are not doing them. Your follow-up sequence is running. Your onboarding is happening. Your appointment reminders are going out. Your leads are being captured and nurtured. Not by a team, by systems, by automations, by a platform handling the admin while you focus on the work that requires your intelligence, your creativity, and your human presence.

This is how you stop trading time for money in the most literal sense. Not by raising your prices alone, but by removing yourself from operational tasks that can be automated, so your time is freed for the things only you can do.

The key insight is that you do not need eleven different platforms to achieve this. Eleven different platforms actively prevent it, because managing the patchwork consumes the time and energy the leverage was supposed to free up. What you need is one platform that does as much as possible in one place.

Introducing GLO

Inside e-School, we have built something specifically to solve this problem. It is called GLO, Get Leverage Online, a white-label version of one of the most powerful all-in-one business platforms available, set up and supported specifically for the e-School community.

GLO manages contacts and CRM, email marketing: sequences, broadcasts, automations, landing pages and funnels, course and digital product hosting, calendar and booking management, pipeline and sales process, and social media scheduling. It automates follow-up so that when someone opts in, books a call, or buys from you, the right thing happens next without you doing it manually.

For most people who join e-School, within the first month they cancel between three and six other subscriptions. The platform typically covers its cost from the subscriptions it replaces before anything else is factored in. We also do group onboardings, so you are not handed a login and left to figure it out alone. We walk through the setup together, answer questions, and help you move from where you are now to somewhere that is actually working for you.

AI as the other half of the equation

Systems and platform consolidation solve one part of the fragmentation problem. Knowing how to use AI effectively solves the other.

Used well, AI is one of the most significant sources of leverage available to entrepreneurs right now, not as a replacement for your thinking but as an intelligent collaborator that dramatically accelerates the parts of your work that require intelligence but not necessarily your specific intelligence. First drafts, research, editing, summarising, brainstorming, communication: tasks that used to take hours and now take minutes, when you know how to use AI with real skill.

The compounding effect of reclaiming that time across every week and every month is significant, not just for productivity but for creativity. Creativity needs space, and when your week is entirely consumed by execution there is no space left for the thinking that actually grows the business.

The AI Business Accelerator inside e-School is built to develop this capability properly: as a depth-first, practical resource that gives you the skills to use AI as a genuine leverage tool across content, systems, client work, and everything in between.

What this is really about

Sorting your tech stack and your AI capability is not about becoming a more efficient machine. It is about getting your life back.

It means that when you are with the people you love, you are actually with them. It means that when you take time away, the business does not fall apart. It means that when an opportunity comes along: a speaking invitation, a creative project, something expansive, you have the headspace to see it and the bandwidth to take it.

Nearly three decades of building businesses has made one thing very clear to me: the version of entrepreneurship worth aspiring to is not the one where you sacrifice everything for the business. It is the one where the business is set up well enough, leveraged enough, intelligently automated enough, that you get to be a full human being while doing something you love that genuinely matters.

That is what good systems make possible. It is available to you considerably sooner than you might think.
